  • Q.Why do I have to show my insurance card each visit?

    A. Patient’s insurance coverage may change at any time. In order to file your claims
correctly and in a timely manner it is necessary to copy card each visit.
  • Q. Why do I have to pay my co-pay and coinsurance at the appointment instead of waiting for the insurance company explanation of benefits?

    A. Our contracts with the insurance companies mandate our collecting fees up front.
  • Q. What method of payment do you accept?

    A. We except cash, credit cards and personal checks
  • Q. What if you can't verify and confirm my coverage?

    A. You will be responsible for paying the full charge at the time of visit. We will file
your insurance as a courtesy to you, and you will be reimbursed after your insurance pays.
  • Q. If I do not have insurance and will be paying self pay can I get a discount?

    A. Patients that do not have insurance coverage will receive a 20% discount if services paid in full.
  • Q. I have a large deductible, can I make multiple payments after my surgery?

    A. Unfortunately, we must collect this money before performing procedures.
  • Q. What happens to those people who do not pay their bill?

    A. After three attempts to collect the bill, these people are turned over to a collection agency. After being turned over, the bill must be paid in full and any future visits must be paid in advance.
  • Q. What should I do if my insurance coverage changes?

    A. Promptly notify Courtview GYN
  • Q. What is HIPAA?

    A. HIPAA is a complex set of federal law designed to secure your information.
  • Q. Do you make reminder phone calls?

    A. Yes. We will call you 2 days before your appointment. This way, if you have to cancel
your appointment, we can try to fill that spot for another patient.
Also please give a 24 hour notice if you must cancel an appointment.
  • Q. Will you leave a message on my answering machine or voice mail regarding normal lab results?

    A. Lab results are not routinely left on an answering machine or voice mail. But if you
request, you can document that in writing and we will do so.
  • Q. Will you discuss my medical condition, diagnosis, and payment etc. with my spouse or children?

    A. Only with your written permission.
  • Q. What do I do if I need a refill of my medication?

    A. Please call the office or have your pharmacy to call us for refills.
Please allow 48 business hours to refill prescriptions.
  • Q. When should I arrive for my appointment?

A.. If you are a new patient, please arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment.
  • Q. What should I bring to my appointment?

    A. Please bring all the medications that you are taking or bring a list of the medications
that describe the dosage, frequency taken, and the prescribing provider. Also bring your
insurance card with you. If you have been referred by another doctor and you are to bring records, please have those records with you. Failure to bring these records may require us to reschedule your appointment.
  • Q.What happens if I am late for my appointment?

    A. Please call us at the first indication that you may be late. We will try and avoid
rescheduling. If you are more that 15 minutes late however, please be advised you may be asked to reschedule.
  • Q. No doctors ever run on time, so why do you insist that I be on time?

    A. Although emergencies happen, we do strive to run on time. If patients before you run
late, and we see them anyway, this would inevitably make you late as well, which would not be fair. Please understand the policy is for your benefit as well as others.
  • Q. Do you take high-risk pregnancies?

    A. Yes, but there may be some pregnancies we cannot accept. When this question arises, these cases are discussed and decided by the physicians.
  • Q. What are your practice hours?

    A. We open at Monday-Friday from 8:00 - 5:00.
  • Q. What if I need something outside of these hours?

    A. There is a doctor available 24 hours a day. If you call the office after office hours
you will be directed to one of our on call nurses. If you need to speak to the doctor on
call, the nurse will contact the doctor for you. Chronic problems, prescription refills,
and appointments are not appropriate reasons to call after hours.
  • Q. Can I get a copy of my records?

    A. Yes. But please allow 7- 10 business days after signing release.
