Obstetrics: Routine & Risk Pregnancy

 

New Obstetrics Patients Schedule of Visits:

Congratulations! We are happy and excited that you have chosen Courtview OB/GYN to care for you through your pregnancy! It is our pledge to provide excellent care for you and your growing baby in a warm and compassionate atmosphere. We welcome fathers and family members to come and share your prenatal visits at any time. We consider ourselves partners with you on the wonderful journey of pregnancy and of your prenatal visits.

Confirmation of Pregnancy:

• Determine pregnancy
• Physical exam if due

Viability Ultrasound

• Determine viability of baby and dates
• Location of baby
• Number of babies

Registration of new patient - educational visit with nurse practitioner or nurse midwife

11 - 13 Weeks

• 1st Trimester Screening for Birth Defects (Optional)

16 Week Visit

• 2nd Trimester Screening for Birth Defects (Optional)

 

18 Week Visit

• Ultrasound and office Visit
• Read Pages 191 - 193 in "Your Pregnancy Week by Week"
• Family and friends are welcome at your ultrasound, but they will have to wait in the main waiting room until your ultrasound has begun. Due to space limitations we ask that you limit it to 3 to 5 people.
• We are unable to record your ultrasound, but you may bring a video camera to tape it yourself. You will receive pictures from the ultrasound.

 

26 Week Visit

• Watch video on Preterm Labor
• Read brochure on Preterm Labor
• Instructions on preparing for the screening test for Gestational Diabetes

 

26 - 28 Week Visit

• Blood drawn for lab work
• Glucola (screening for Gestational Diabetes) CBC, Antibody screening if RH Negative
• If you need a Rhogam injection, you will have a return visit scheduled 2 days later.

 

36 - 36 Week Visit

• Vaginal culture for Group B Strep
• Finger stick for Hemglobin
• Epidural video

 

39 Week Visit

• Start Cervical exams

 

If you have not delivered by 42 weeks, then you will be scheduled for an induction of your labor.
